Hello and Welcome,
If you are new to this blog or have been away for a while you might not know how much I enjoy using the Fuseworks microwave kiln. If you are interested in learning how to fuse glass but don’t want to invest in a large
Over the last couple of months, I have made several jewelry projects, but I have been wanting to make a bigger project. I finally got the inspiration to make this wind chime. It did take a little while to fuse all the pieces one by one but I really like how it turned out and now I am wondering what other projects I can dream up for my new toy.
So I hope you enjoy this project and that you will stop back by soon to see what else is brewing in the lab.
In this video you can see the finished project and how to cut and fuse the glass in your microwave.
Here is a quick look at the four step process.

Loved your video very thorough!! I was at a yard sale and bought 3 paint buckets of stain glass scraps, my sister said this is different glass from what you are doing. I am a pinterest junkie and was thrilled to get these for $2 a bucket…wind chimes here I come, can this glass be recycled like other glass?? I do not have the $$ to try stain glass projects and it looks like you need a steady hand, I am old, no steady hands!! Can you help?!
Hi Sherie,
Thanks for your question. I have only used recycled glass bottles in my projects but I believe that all glass will work in the microwave kiln. If stacking the glass shapes is difficult I have heard that some people use super glue to hold the pieces together before fusing. Hope that helps. Thanks again for your comment/question.
Amazing!! I am looking forward to trying this. Thank you. Where would I purchase the small kiln? Blessed from Florida
Hi Kathy,
I got mine at Hobby Lobby but I don’t think they carry them anymore. At the bottom of this post there is a link to purchase the kiln kit on Amazon. It has everything you need to get started. Thanks for your comment. I hope you have fun learning to fuse glass.
Extraordinary. Would love more info. Thanks #
Hi May,
I do have several other videos on glass fusing if you are interested. Also if you have a specific question or something you would like me to cover please let me know. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you for the video very interesting don’t think I could do it but was cool watch
Hi Marisa,
Thanks for the comment. It is a pretty simple process and you could start with smaller projects if you are interested in fusing glass. The best part (for me anyway) is that if I mess up I am using recycled glass so it isn’t an expensive mistake and I can even refuse the “mistakes” in my microwave into something else.

I really liked your video. I am going to try this project. My only complaint is that the background music is to loud. It’s nice, but I had a hard time hearing you over the music a couple times and I found it distracting. Thanks for this great project.
Hi Linda,
Thanks for the feedback. I am still working on my video skills and I probably need better equipment. I hope you have as much fun fusing glass as I have.
